The seven days of the week are masculine (der) since they usually end in -tag (der Tag).The two exceptions, Mittwoch and Sonnabend, are also masculine.Note that there are two words for Saturday. Der becomes dem, die becomes der, das becomes dem and the plural die becomes den. It’s a lot to remember. You might come up with your own, but I made a little acronym out of the ending letters: MRMN. The gender of a noun determines which definite article is used with that noun. In the nominative case, "der" precedes masculine nouns, "die" precedes feminine and plural nouns, and "das" precedes neutral nouns. Choose the correct definite article for each noun given.
